The invention relates to a liquid pharmaceutical composition in the form of a concentrate for producing an infusion, containing alprostadil (prostaglandin E1) as the active ingredient, dissolved in a solvent mixture consisting of at least one pharmaceutically acceptable organic solvent and water. The invention is characterised in that the total water content in the solvent mixture is from 8 to 85 % by weight H2O, in relation to the total quantity of the solvent mixture, and that at least one acid or a substance acting as an acid or proton donor is contained in the mixture as a stabiliser for the active ingredient.
