摘要

Two acrylic products have been obtained, latex and acrylic elastomer in solid state. The latex is formed by nanometric-sized polymeric particles, obtained by an innovative polymerization process in emulsion. The obtained latex is stable and formulated with organoclays for providing the same with mechanical reinforcement, elasticity and self-crosslinking properties mainly. This latex may be used in formulations of paint, coatings, sealers and varnishes, amongst others. The acrylic elastomer is obtained by the precipitation process of the latex. The acrylic elastomer in solid state is formulated with organoclays for forming nanostructured acrylic elastomers. The organoclays act as co-vulcanization agents for transferring mechanical reinforcement properties to the same with good thermal properties and wear resistance. The use of organoclays promotes the decrease of the concentration of accelerants and vulcanization agents. These materials are applied in the manufacture of automotive gask ets, seals and joints amongst others.
