Ship equipped with means for depositing people and goods on structures placed in the sea. For this purpose the ship is provided with a beam element composed of a plurality of girder elements, one end of which is connected to the ship by means of a foundation in which a coordinate system with drive means is included. The other end of the assembled beam member, which is variable in length, can be moved freely for the ultimate purpose of bringing it into contact with the offshore structure. Along this girder element, a carriage is pulled back and forth between both ends, in which goods and people can be brought from the ship to the offshore construction and vice versa. In order to enable the carriage to cover the entire route in a controlled manner, it can be divided into several carriage parts, each of which corresponds to one of the elements of the beam member. Because the angle at which the assembled girder element is situated can vary with respect to the horizontal plane, a provision is provided on the carriage with which the orientation of the bearing surface for people and goods can be compensated.
