A moulding system for a building element (1) is described, wherein a front face (111) of a frame (11), possibly of a frame liner (11a), lies in a plane outside the surface (21) of an adjacent building structure (2), and a side face (112) of the frame (11), alternatively of the frame liner (11a), facing the adjacent building structure (2) is provided with a first groove (113) which is arranged to receive a correspondingly projecting coupling portion (128) arranged in an edge face (121) of the moulding (12) which is provided with a covering portion (129) covering at least a portion of the front face (111) of the frame (11), alternatively of the frame liner (11a), and the connection is provided by the coupling portion (128) having been inserted into the first groove (113). A method of connecting a frame (11) and mouldings (12) that are arranged to extend from front faces (111) of the frame (11) onto an adjacent building surface (21) is described as well.
