The invention relates to a rotary engine with compressed air drive, operated by controlled pulses. According to the invention, the engine comprises a rotor (1) placed in a housing (2), operated with compressed air in two diametrically opposite points in order to generate a driving torque, by means of some diffusers (3) and some kicking coils (4), the rotor speed and torque being controlled by a process computer (CP), depending on the signals of a position transducer (8), by means of the diffusers (3) and kicking coils (4), which are also controlled by the computer (CP), where the kicking coils (4) are supplied with compressed air from a constant-pressure reservoir (RPC), through two electrically operated valves (5), upon the computer (CP) control, the constant-pressure reservoir (RPC) being supplied, with a view to maintaining the pressure in the range of 6...7 bar, from a high-pressure reservoir (RPI), by means of an adjustable kicking coil (6), controlled by the computer (CP), depending on the signals of a pressure gauge (M).
