IMPELLER MILL FOR BROWN RICE AND WHITE RICE

The invention is a medium-size impeller mill system that enables and 1 ..- empowers upland rice farmers and small rice traders in the remote areas of the country to produce white rice and brown rice by processing or milling rice paddy. The invention is compact yet powerful with milling capacity of 250 - 400 kg/hr and milling recovery of 62 - 65 pcnt for white rice and 75 - 78 pcnt for brown rice with potential head rice recovery of 63.9 - 64.2 pcnt for white rice and 75.4 - 91.1 pcnt for brown rice. The technical features of the technology are as follows: o Ultra: Input capacity of about 250 - 450 kg/hr and capable of producing both white rice and brown rice, and can mill 10 - 20 pcnt moisture content which the traditional ricemill is not capable to do. o Compact: 60 pcnt reduction in the space requirement of current ricemill technology; o Efficient: Cost of milling is Php 0.87 per kg of milled rice which is far below the prevailing milling fee of Php 1.75- 2.50/kg; and, o Simple setup: Compatible with single-phase electrical lines and working space of 16 square meters.
