A method for treating a stream of adsorption tail gas by hydrogen pressure oscillation containing hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane and water to recover high purity carbon dioxide from the queue gas stream, comprising said process the steps of: a) introducing the adsorption queue gas by hydrogen pressure oscillation into a compressor to compress the queue gas; b) introducing the hydrogen pressure oscillation adsorption tail gas into one of a carbon dioxide pressure oscillation adsorption unit or a vacuum pressure adsorption unit of carbon dioxide containing one or more beds of an adsorbent selected from activated carbon, silica gels, one or more zeolites or any combination thereof, thereby allowing the recovery of a secondary stream of high purity gaseous carbon dioxide by adsorption of the carbon dioxide in the adsorbent and a secondary gas stream poor in carbon dioxide; c) allowing the secondary carbon dioxide-poor gas stream to pass from the adsorption unit by carbon dioxide pressure oscillation or respectively from the adsorption unit by carbon dioxide vacuum pressure oscillation to a separation unit of membrane that includes a membrane that is very selective for hydrogen and carbon dioxide, said membrane having a side of the residue and a side of the filtrate, the membrane allowing the retention of methane and carbon monoxide to form a first membrane current on the side of the membrane residue and the passage of carbon dioxide and hydrogen to the filtrate side to form a second membrane stream on the membrane filtrate side; d) recompress the first membrane stream and recycle the first compressed membrane stream as feed gas for a hydrocarbon reformer with water vapor or as a complementary fuel for a hydrocarbon reformer with water vapor; e) optionally recompressing the second membrane stream in a third compressor and recycling this second compressed membrane stream to the water gas displacement effluent to be introduced into the adsorption unit by hydrogen pressure oscillation or passing the second membrane stream to the hydrogen pressure oscillation adsorption queue gas to be compressed before being injected into the carbon dioxide pressure oscillation adsorption unit or respectively the carbon dioxide vacuum pressure adsorption unit; and f) removing the carbon dioxide that is adsorbed on the one or more beds of the adsorption unit by carbon dioxide pressure oscillation or respectively the adsorption unit by vacuum pressure oscillation of carbon dioxide by decompressing the one or more beds to produce a stream of high purity gaseous carbon dioxide.
