A method for transmitting data packets from a transmitting terminal (14, 100), said method comprising: encapsulating a data segment for an upper layer data packet in a lower layer data packet, the layer data packet comprising Upper protocol data units, PDU, layer, logical link control, LLC, comprising the lower layer data packet radio link control data blocks, RLC, for transmission over a service network General Enhanced Packet Radio, EGPRS; adding a new package indicator set to a predetermined value to the lower layer data package if the data segment comprises the beginning of a new upper layer data package to indicate the start of a new upper layer data package; add a length indicator to the lower layer data packet if the data segment comprises the end of a higher layer data packet; and wherein the step of adding a new package indicator comprises adding the new package indicator to the lower layer data package only when the lower layer data package begins with a segment of a new upper layer data package and in which the value of the new package indicator is set to 126.
