New biomaterial from Wharton's jelly of the human umbilical cord

The present invention refers to a biomaterial, specifically a hydrogel, formed from the umbilical cord extracellular matrix for its application in Regenerative Medicine. In particular, the invention refers to a biomaterial composed of glycosaminoglycans isolated exclusively from Wharton's gelatin from the umbilical cord that may optionally contain cells, and also to the methods for their production and use.
