METHOD OF REMOVING DECAYING DC COMPONENT FROM POWER SYSTEM FAULT SIGNAL

A method for removing a decaying DC component from a power system faultsignal,comprises steps of: 1) acquiring a normal signal I 0 and a fault signal I 1 ina power system;2) sampling the acquired fault signal I 1 to obtain an amplitude of the faultsignal I1 ateach sampling point; 3) calculating the amplitude of the fault signal I1 ateach samplingpoint obtained in step 2) according to the following formula: I 2(N) = K[2 I1(N) - I 1(N-1)1)]; 4) obtaining from step 3) the signal amplitude of the fault signal I 1at eachsampling point after the decaying DC component is removed from the faultsignal I 1, andfinally obtaining a signal I 2 having the decaying DC component removed. Themethodprovides advantages such as simple steps, fewer calculations and low timedelay.
