A method of treating a tubular surface which defines an axis extending from afirstsurface end to a second surface end includes partially surrounding the tubularsurface, at afirst position, with a first set of treating units, with the treating unitsarranged in a firstarcuate array. Furthermore, each treating unit is configured to include aplurality of firstapplicator heads. Additionally, an embodiment of the method includesdetermining aposition of each of the plurality of first applicator heads relative to thetubular surface andmoving the first set of treating units from the first position towards asecond position. Inone non-limiting example, the method further includes independentlycontrolling each ofthe plurality of first applicator heads to selectively apply a first treatmentas the first set oftreating units moves from the first position towards the second position.
