Methods and apparatus are provided for drawing an image of a procedure route.Themethod comprises retrieving a source data file containing flight path dataformatted in accordancewith an industry standard wherein the flight path data comprises a pluralityof path data items anda plurality of terminator data items, the path data items and the terminatordata items are arrangedin pairs as a plurality of path and terminator data item pairs, and the pathand terminator data itempairs have a specific order. The method further comprises converting each pathand terminatordata item pair in the source data file to one or more drawing commandscomprising one or moreof a point command, a line command, or a curve command. The method furthercomprisesstoring the drawing commands converted from the path and terminator data itempairs in adatabase file.
