A METHOD OF STIMULATING ASYMMETRIC DIVISION OF SATELLITE STEM CELLS

The present disclosure provides a method for stimulating asymmetric divisionof at least some satellite stem cells ina patient suffering from a disease or disorder characterized by satellitecells having an inability, or a reduced ability, to assemble afunctional dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex (DGC) that results in aninability, or reduced ability, to establish cell polarity.The method includes administering to the patient a sufficient amount of anepidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathway activatorto stimulate asymmetric division of at least some satellite stem cells.
