In order to eliminate the need for a centralized server, which would create a single point of failure in a system, and stably perform an estimate assessment process even when a node malfunction or the like occurs, the distributed cooperative information processing device according to the present application is a distributed cooperative information processing device distributed and disposed within a prescribed field, wherein the device comprises: a measurement/detection means that uses a sensor device to measure the surrounding environment; an estimate computation means that generates, on the basis of the results of measuring the surrounding environment, estimate assessment information indicating the likelihood of a hypothetical set of states occurring in the surrounding environment; a communication means that receives estimate assessment information generated by another distributed cooperative information processing device within the field; a neighbor management means that manages information on other distributed cooperative information processing devices; and a merging means for merging estimate assessment information generated by the local device and estimate assessment information received from another distributed cooperative information processing device.
