Provided are an autonomous work control system and an autonomous work control method that control autonomous work carried out by a plurality of work devices capable of flexibly dealing with changes made in a work environment or work situation during work. The autonomous work control system that controls the autonomous work carried out by the work devices is characterized in that: a device operation generation unit determines the inability of a first work device to carry out work of a first target operation by comparing the target operation instruction of the work device outputted from an operation instruction unit with a device state and a work state estimated on the basis of information of a sensor mounted on the work device ; and a device operation changing unit interrupts a second target operation executed by a second work device when the inability of the first work device to carry out work of the first target operation is detected, generates a new target operation instruction for a third target operation that assists the execution continuance of the first target operation by the first work device, and provides the new target operation instruction to the second work device.
