A double-sided welding and double-sided shaping helical friction stir welding (FSW) method for making a large-diameter aluminum alloy tube, which comprises: step 1, a conveying machine conveying an aluminum alloy plate to a roller group, so that the roller group bends and shapes the aluminum alloy plate into a tube; step 2, performing internal friction stir welding to said aluminum tube while supporting the exterior of the aluminum tube; step 3, performing external friction stir welding to the aluminum tube while supporting the interior of the aluminum tube. Using friction stir welding effectively solves shortcomings of fusion welding, such as a low yield of finished products, and achieves highly efficient, high-quality automated manufacturing of large-diameter aluminum alloy tubes.
