An in particular electrically controllable all-solid-state electrochromic device the infrared emissivity or reflectivity of which is controlled, comprising but preferably consisting of a stack, said stack comprising in succession from a back side (3) to a front side (1) that is exposed to the infrared rays (2): a substrate (4) made of an electronically conductive material, or a substrate made of an electronically non-conductive material covered with a layer made of an electronically conductive material, forming a first electrode; a layer made of a proton-storing first electrochromic material (5); a layer of an electronically insulating and protonically conductive electrolyte (6); an electronically conductive and electronically auto-active layer (7) the reflectivity of which in the infrared is variable, of a pre-protonated second electrochromic material with a variable degree of proton intercalation, said second material being chosen from pre-protonated crystallised tungsten oxide HxW03-c and pre-protonated crystallised hydrated tungsten oxide HxW03.nH20-c (7) where x is comprised between 0.2 and 1 and n is an integer from 1 to 2, the content in terms of unremovable protons of the second electrochromic material always being equal to 0.2; and optionally a protective layer (8) that is transparent to the infrared rays. A method for producing said electronically auto-active layer for this device. A process for producing this device.
