A device and method for supporting a collaboration for co-editing an electronic document, according to one embodiment of the present invention, may provide support so that, for an electronic document converted into a markup language-based document, when a second user participates in a collaboration for the electronic document while a first user is in the middle of editing same, the markup language-based document having edits generated up to the current period by the first user reflected therein is sent to a client terminal of the second user, and thus the first user and the second user may simultaneously make edits to the same markup language-based document.
