The present invention belongs to the field of mobile phone applications (APPs). Provided are a method for a cloud public number query, and a query system. The method comprises: recording a cloud public telephone number query address, and recording a cloud public telephone number; detecting query information input in an address book by a user; when a matched number is not queried in the query information input in the address book by the user, sending the query information to the cloud public telephone number query address; and according to the query information sent by the user, when the number is queried in the cloud public telephone number, pushing the number to a mobile phone of the user. In the present invention, by means of pre-setting a cloud public telephone number query address and pre-setting a public telephone number, when a user does not match a contact in a mobile phone according to input query information, the query information is sent to a cloud, so that the user can conveniently and rapidly complete the query of a public number in a mobile phone address book.
