A method and system for detecting sucking times of an infant based on audio frequency. The method comprises the following steps: detecting audio frequency information and a lasting period of time(101); carrying out comparative analysis on the audio frequency if the audio frequency exceeds a set threshold and the lasting period of time exceeds a set period of time (102); and adding one to the number of sucking times if it is analyzed that crying sounds of an infant exist (103). The method has the advantage of high user experience.
