Disclosed are a detection device and a detection method of an ultrasonic blind area of a vehicle for preventing ground mismeasurement and misinformation, the device comprising a plurality of ultrasonic sensors, wherein the ultrasonic sensors are all arranged at a certain angle with the longitudinal centre line of a vehicle, and detection directions of the ultrasonic sensors have a set angle therebetween so as to correspond respectively to different directions from far to near in a side road blind area; the detection distances of the ultrasonic sensors are different, and the detection distances thereof decrease gradually from far to near in the side road blind area; and by means of shielding mismeasurement signals, regarding the ground, of the ultrasonic sensors and extracting useful signals detected by the ultrasonic sensors, continuous remote detection signals from far to near are combined, so as to cover the blind area of a rearview mirror and a visible area at the back end of blind area outside the side road of the vehicle in a larger scale. The present detection device and detection method can provide a larger coverage range for a blind area and a visible area at the back end of the blind area of a side road of a vehicle, and can effectively ensure the detection performance of a blind spot monitoring system.
