A composition which contains a near-infrared absorbing compound having a maximum absorption wavelength within the range of 650-1,000 nm, an organic solvent and a resin, and wherein: the near-infrared absorbing compound is at least one compound selected from among pyrrolopyrrole compounds, rylene compounds, oxonol compounds, squarylium compounds, croconium compounds, zinc phthalocyanine compounds, cobalt phthalocyanine compounds, vanadium phthalocyanine compounds, copper phthalocyanine compounds, magnesium phthalocyanine compounds, naphthalocyanine compounds, pyrylium compounds, azulenium compounds, indigo compounds and pyrromethene compounds; and the solubility in propylene glycol methyl ether acetate at 25°C is 0.01-30 mg/L.
