The present invention relates to a cell strain stably expressing Nav1.5 and a method for screening a drug by using the same. The present inventors stably expressed in human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cells the sodium channel human Nav1.5 (hNav1.5), which is expressed mainly in human cardiomyocytes, to develop a novel cell strain which is adapted to measure toxicity of drugs by use of automated electrophysiological devices as well as traditional electrophysiological techniques. Therefore, the cell strain of the present invention can be very useful for screening cardiotoxicity of drugs.
