The present invention relates to a cell strain stably expressing Nav1.5 and to a method for screening a drug by using the same. The present inventors stably expressed the sodium channel human Nav1.5 (hNav1.5), which is expressed mainly in human cardiomyocytes, in human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cells to develop a novel cell strain which is adapted to measure the toxicity of drugs by using automated electrophysiological devices as well as traditional electrophysiological techniques. Therefore, the cell strain of the present invention can be very useful for screening cardiotoxicity of drugs.
