A DC charging cable of an electric vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof. The method comprises manufacturing a conductor, manufacturing a wire core, and extruding an outer protection layer. The cable structure has more robust mechanical performance and electrical insulation performance, and a DC charging station using the same guarantees a charging current of greater than or equal to 250 A and a charging time of less than or equal to 0.5 h for a small vehicle. An auxiliary signal transmission control wire (5) is implemented by a 0.10 mm tin-plated woven copper wire having a weave density of greater than or equal to 85%. Inner protection sheaths (46, 56) and the outer protection sheath (8) are manufactured from a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material, and have high elasticity and high resistance against wear. The auxiliary signal transmission control wire core (5) is added in the DC charging cable of an electric vehicle to provide functions including temperature monitoring, electronic locking, insulation monitoring and a bleed circuit, further enhancing the safety of the DC charging cable.
