The invention relates to structuring for the purpose of improving light extraction in a high-refractive-index scintillation crystal, obtained by producing a polycrystalline network structure in the form of studs or cones in a material with a high refractive index deposited on a lateral and/or upper face of the crystal, and is characterized in that the network of studs or cones is periodic at the local scale, with a period smaller than 10 times the wavelength λ, of the photons in the optical medium under consideration, and aperiodic at a scale greater than 30 times the wavelength. The invention further relates to a quasi-periodic polycrystalline network structure in the form of studs or cones intended for production on a high-refractive index material deposited on the crystal, and to its use on different faces of said crystal.
