The invention relates to a method for producing a plug, which is provided with a plastic injection-moulded encapsulation (1), for a fuel pump. Two flat plug elements (9) and two coils (11) are inserted into a base plate (8). A core (12) of a cable (2) is soldered or welded or crimped to each of the first ends of the flat plug elements (9). The one ends of the coils (11) and also the one ends of two litz wires (3) are each soldered or welded or crimped to a flat plug element (9). The base plate (8), with the components arranged on it, is inserted into a cavity (16) of an injection mould (14) onto cores, which project into the interior of the cavity (16), in a horizontal manner at a distance from the walls. The cavity (16) is then filled with a plastic, wherein the cores are pushed out of the cavity (16) during the filling process.
