Security-relevant regions in buildings and/or open areas are often monitored by sensor. The monitoring material is often evaluated in control centers. The invention relates to a display device (2) for a monitoring system (1) of a monitoring region (3), wherein the monitoring system (1) has a plurality of sensors (4), wherein the sensors (4) are designed to monitor at least one section of the monitoring region (3) as a scene having objects and to provide said at least one section as scene data, comprising: at least one input interface (8) for receiving the sensor data (7); an entity device (10), wherein the entity device (10) is designed to associate entities with the objects of the scene on the basis of the sensor data (7); an attributing device (11), wherein the attributing device (11) has the entities and the sensor data (7) and attributes, wherein the attributing device (11) is designed to associate attributes with at least one of the entities and/or to store attributes for the entity; a filter device (14), wherein the filter device (14) is designed to filter the sensor data (7) into output data (15) on the basis of at least one of the entities and on the basis of the associated attributes, having a display device (2) for displaying the output data (15).
