A door component (100) comprises a controllable rotation damper (1) and two connection units (151, 152) that are movable relative to each other, one of the two connection units (151, 152) being connectable to a support structure and the other of the two connection units (151, 152) being connectable to a movable door unit (154) of a vehicle (100) in order to dampen a movement of the door unit (154) between a closed position (102) and an open position (103) in a controlled manner. A coupling rod (60) is linked to the rotation damper (1) and a relative axial movement of the coupling rod (60) can be converted into a rotational movement of the damper shaft (3) by interacting transmission units (61, 71) mounted on the coupling rod (60) and on the rotation damper (1). The rotation damper (1) comprises a housing (12) and a magnetic field source (8) and a displacer unit (2) arranged in the housing (12), wherein the displacer unit (2) has a damper shaft (3) and meshing displacer components (4, 5), and contains a magnetorheological fluid (6) as the working fluid and can be operated thereby in order to set a degree of damping of the rotational movement of the damper shaft (3).
