The invention relates to a method for stationary thermal hydrolysis of organic material, with two-step steam explosion and total energy recovery, which consists, at least, of the following steps: 1) the supply, gradual pressurisation and sequential injection of steam at low, medium and high pressures; 2) a first step of hydrolysis via the consecutive operations of steam explosion with medium-pressure steam production and thermal reaction; and 3) a second step of hydrolysis consisting in a steam explosion and low-pressure steam production. A facility for carrying out the method, which comprises pumps for gradual pressurisation, fluid-steam mixers, valves, mixers, decompression elements, tanks, piping, and instrumentation and control systems.
