Provided are an α-amylase BaAmy mutant with increased specific activity, and a coding gene and an application thereof, the mutant being an acidic α-amylase BaAmy mutant having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO. 8, and the mutation sites thereof being any one or more of the amino acids at the 37th, 85th, 191st, 241st, 279th, 291th, 319th and/or 333th positions. The specific activity of the mutated α-amylase increased by 45%-110% compared to the specific activity of the original α-amylase.
