According to the present invention, a powder of an Ulmi cortex or Ulmus davidiana root cortex can be useful for wound treatment and skin regeneration because the powder is found to promote the formation of keratinocytes, proliferate epidermal and dermal tissues, increase the collagen synthesis of the dermis, and show high water absorption capacity capable of absorbing exudates from wounds in cell strains and animal models.
