The invention relates to a method and system for controlling wind farms (1) connected in series to a HVDC link (8), wherein each wind farm (1) is connected to a bus bar (3) that is in turn connected, via a step-up transformer (6), to an AC/DC rectifier station (7) which releases the energy generated to a HVDC link (8), said bar (3) being connected to a bank of capacitors (5) and to an electronic converter (4). The system also comprises a plurality of AC links (11) connecting the bars (3) to one another at least in pairs, such that it is possible to equalise the power injected by each AC/DC rectifier station (7) into the HVDC link (8) by modifying the frequency in the bus bar (3) of each wind farm (1) such that said frequency increases in proportion to the voltage in the bus bar (3).
