An A-D-A conjugated molecule having a thienocyclopentanedione derivative as a capping group, a homopolymeric 5-membered aromatic heterocycle as a bridging unit, and a polycyclic trapezoidal conjugated molecule as a core, a preparation method therefor, and use of said molecule in organic photovoltaic cells (OPV) as an electron acceptor material in an active layer. Said A-D-A conjugated molecule has a good solubility, a suitable energy level, and a good absorption spectrum. A solar cell device prepared on the basis of said A-D-A conjugated molecule has high energy conversion efficiency. The A-D-A conjugated molecule is represented by the general formula (I).
