Provided are a fuel gas heater, a support structure for the fuel gas heater, and a method for cleaning the fuel gas heater, which are provided with: a hollow-shaped container (11); a gas inflow chamber (12) defined at one end of the container (11) and having a gas inlet (26) for a fuel gas; a gas outflow chamber (13) defined at the one end of the container (11) and having a gas outlet (27) for the fuel gas; a plurality of U-shaped heat transfer pipes (14) contained in the container (11), the plurality of heat transfer pipes (14) each having one end (14a) which is in communication with the gas inflow chamber (12), and each also having the other end (14b) which is in communication with the gas outflow chamber (13); a water supply opening (15) for supplying boiler supply water (W1) into the container (11); a water discharge opening (16) for discharging boiler supply water (W2) within the container (11); a gas inflow chamber maintenance opening (17) provided facing the one end (14a) of each of the heat transfer pipes (14), the one end (14a) being located in the gas inflow chamber (12); an opening and closing cover (18) for the gas inflow chamber, the opening and closing cover (18) being capable of opening and closing the gas inflow chamber maintenance opening (17); a gas outflow chamber maintenance opening (19) provided facing the other ends (14b) of the heat transfer pipes (14), the other ends (14b) being located in the gas outflow chamber (13); and an opening and closing cover (20) for the gas outflow chamber, the opening and closing cover (20) being capable of opening and closing the gas outflow chamber maintenance opening (19).
