The present invention discloses a glass ceramic for exciting a high-power semiconductor light source. The composition of the glass ceramic is expressed as (1-x)A:xB, wherein x is the percentage of B by weight, and the value of x ranges from 1 to 30%; A is matrix glass with a composition of: aSb2O3-bB2O3-cZnO-dM2O, wherein a, b, c, and d are all molar percentages, a + b + c + d = 100%, M in M2O represents an alkali metal, and M2O is an alkali metal oxide or an alkali metal carbonate; and B is a YAG:Ce3+ phosphor. The matrix glass provided by the present invention has a lower remelting temperature, devitrification does not occur during preparation of a final product from the matrix glass, and the matrix glass itself does not absorb blue light. The produced glass ceramic is combined with a high-power blue semiconductor light source to produce a white semiconductor light source with a light efficiency of 300-400 lm/W. The preparation method provided by the present invention has the advantages of low costs, excellent performance, and being green and pollution-free and suitable for large-scale industrial production, and can be applied to illumination light sources and display light sources, such as car headlights, searchlights, projectors, laser cinemas, and other fields.
