Provided are: a rubber composition to be used for a sealing member for high-pressure gases, which achieves excellent wear resistance, low temperature resistance, heat resistance and blister resistance at the same time; and a sealing member for high-pressure gases. A rubber composition to be used for a sealing member for high-pressure gases, said member sealing a high-pressure gas, is characterized in that: a rubber component in the rubber composition contains a polybutadiene rubber and/or a polystyrene butadiene rubber; and the rubber composition has a glass transition temperature of -65°C or less.
