Provided is a people-credentials comparison authentication method, system and a camera. The people-credentials comparison authentication method comprises: acquiring a plurality of face images and at least one target face image of the plurality of face images that satisfies a preset condition (S101); receiving a credentials image obtained by a credentials reading supporting device (S102); comparing the credentials image with each target face image separately to obtain a degree of people-credentials similarity of each target face image (S103); and if the number of target face images whose degree of people-credentials similarity is higher than a preset similarity threshold reaches a first preset number, then determining that the authentication is successful (S104). The method achieves high real-time performance of personnel authentication through people-credentials comparison.
