The present invention relates to the technical field of marine antifouling materials. Disclosed are a main-chain degradable zinc polyacrylate resin prepared by a monomer method, a preparation method therefor and an application thereof. The main-chain degradable zinc polyacrylate resin is mainly prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 5-80 parts of a vinyl zinc ester functional monomer, 5-95 parts of a cyclic monomer, 0-95 parts of a vinyl monomer, 0.01-10 parts of an initiator, and 50-100 parts of an organic solvent. According to the resin of the present invention, zinc ester bonds at the side chain and polyester chain segments at the main chain can be hydrolyzed under seawater attach, the dependence of a conventional self-polishing material on the navigational speed is avoided, the coating surface is self-updated in static seawater due to a hydrolytic degradation effect, an antifouling agent can be effectively controlled to be released at a constant speed, and the anti-fouling requirements of ships at a low navigational speed, offshore production platforms and other facilities are met; moreover, the resin has good drag reduction performance. The resin is used for marine antifouling coatings.
