Provided is a copper tube having excellent corrosion resistance, which can exhibit higher corrosion resistance to ant nest corrosion and can be used suitably as a heat exchanger tube, a refrigerant piping or the like in an air conditioning apparatus or a refrigerating apparatus. A copper tube containing P in an amount of 0.15 to 0.50% by weight and a remainder made up by Cu and impurities, wherein P oxide particles are contained in a material for the copper tube and the number density of P oxide particles each having an equivalent circle diameter of 0.1 μm or more, among the above-mentioned P oxide particles, is 50000 particles/mm² or less.
