The present invention relates to a composition for suppressing inflammation or red spots due to ultraviolet light containing 4-n-butylresorcinol as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, it is possible to suppress inflammation and red spots due to ultraviolet light by inhibiting production of inflammation mediators of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) due to ultraviolet light.
