The present invention relates to an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) card game device and method using a smartphone, capable of minimizing reality in a visual image of a game. According to the present invention, the device comprises: a character image detection module detecting an image of a character card to generate and transmit character image information to a server; a character image tracking module tracking a character image in accordance with movement of the character card to generate movement information or position information of a placed card to transmit the information to the server; a three-dimensional (3D) display module to display 3D information stored in the character image information on a user interface (UI) of a smartphone in accordance with the detected movement and position information; and a game calculation module managing points, a point gauge, and a total point of the character to provide calculation determining the final winner to design a game result on the UI of the smartphone or analyzing the character image information to analyze features of the character.
