The present invention relates to a route safety guard service providing method using a social network. The route safety guard service providing method using a social network executed by a server providing a route guide service by communicating with a smartphone of a user includes: a first step of receiving route guide request information including destination information from the smartphone of the user subscribed as a member in the service; a second step of confirming one or more routes based on the current location and destination information of the user; a third step of determining one or more members to guard the user among members confirmed to be located near the route of the confirmed user; and a fourth step of providing monitoring information about the movement of the user on the route through a smartphone of the determined member.
