The present invention relates to a counterfeit printed material identification method, registering, in advance, a position of a division image for identification and a captured image of a printed material to prevent counterfeit printed material where the image designed by mixing a plurality of division images of an original image are halftone printed. Moreover, the present invention identifies the captured image of a printed object which is required to be identified based on a division image pattern of the registered position or a halftone dot.
