In order to provide a gene for controlling the myocardiality of a plant, a transgenic plant into which the gene is introduced, and a method for controlling the myocardiality of a plant using the gene, a shallow rooting type, (Dro1 locus), which controls the myocardiality of the plant, was detected between rice varieties IR64 and deep rooting type. As a result, it was found that the gene region of Dro1 was a region of 6.0 kbp sandwiched between Dro1-INDEL09, which is an InDel marker, and Dro1-CAPS05, which is a CAPS marker. In addition, transgenic plants of the Dro1 gene of the Kjeldahl patong type were found to have a predominantly higher myocardial rate. Also, it was confirmed that the individuals having the Dro1 gene of the pituitary gland of the kyangsangdang were resistant to aging.
