When a brain fingerprint is detected, a preset visual stimulus is outputted on a screen of a display. Causal connectivity between two or more brain areas among a plurality of preset brain areas is detected based on the cognitive brain wave signal of a measurement target who selectively observes at least a part of the visual stimulus outputted on the screen of the display. An activation pattern of the causal connectivity between the brain areas is recognized based on the detected causal connectivity and the activation pattern of the causal connectivity between the recognized brain areas is used as a brain fingerprint, thereby identifying the measurement target. Accordingly, the present invention can accurately distinguish a plurality of users.
