The present invention relates to a tension controlling apparatus of a mesh belt conveyor to extend the lifetime of a mesh belt. The apparatus comprises: a heating furnace horizontally installed and having a high temperature condition created therein; a pair of driving rollers installed on both ends of the heating furnace; a caterpillar mesh belt passing through the inside of the heating furnace by the driving of the driving roller; and a driving means driving the driving rollers to move the mesh belt. More specifically, the tension controlling apparatus of a mesh belt conveyor to extend the lifetime of a mesh belt is characterized in that an idle roller is installed on any one of the pairs of driving rollers installed on both ends of the heating furnace while having a hemispherical surface thereof contacting a lower outer surface of the mesh belt, and a tension roller is installed between the driving rollers and the idle roller while having a lower hemisphere thereof contacting a lower inner surface of the mesh belt, such that the mesh belt is tightly maintained by the tension applied by the load of the tension roller. Accordingly, the tension controlling apparatus of a mesh belt conveyor to extend the lifetime of a mesh belt is advantageous in that when the mesh belt is thermally expanded, the tension is naturally applied to the mesh belt by the load of the tension roller, such that there are fewer failures caused by the forcible application of the tension, and a spring supporting the tension roller compensates the increased length, thereby being able to use the mesh belt and the spring for a relatively long time.
