The personal air sampling pump assembly includes a motor having a reciprocating piston for operating the diaphragm assembly. The diaphragm includes a valve head including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and a fluid chamber defining a fluid path between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The first diaphragm and the second diaphragm are in sealing engagement with the valve head and seal the fluid chamber. The first diaphragm includes a piston diaphragm membrane portion connected to the piston for reciprocation with the piston and the reciprocating motion of the piston causes a change in the air pressure inside the fluid chamber to move the air from the fluid inlet towards the fluid outlet . Both the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm include a portion of the damper membrane that cooperate to reduce the amplitude of the pulsation at the fluid inlet and fluid outlet air streams.
