The present invention relates to a method for preparing an electrocatalyst for selective carbon dioxide reduction, which has improved selectivity to CO and ferrodefficiency during selective reduction from CO_2 to CO. In the electrocatalyst prepared through a method for preparing an electrocatalyst for CO_2 selective reduction according to the present invention, compared with a conventional method, a hydrogen generation reaction was suppressed during the selective reduction of CO to CO_2, and the selectivity to CO was rather increased, so that the CO ferrodefficiency was improved more than twice. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the method exhibits a remarkable effect in exhibiting low over-potential, high mass activity, and high ferrodefficiency.
