The present invention discloses a method for expanding a view of a head mounted display device and a device using the same, which improve a flat panel display and an optical lens on a head mounted display device to expand a view of a viewer. The method for expanding a view according to the present invention, in a method for projecting a virtual image onto eyes of a user wearing the head mounted display device, comprises the following steps of: playing an image by using a curved display and a curved optical lens; and expanding and projecting the virtual image corresponding to the image at a position farther from the eyes of the user than the curved display by using the curved optical lens located closer to the eyes of the user than the curved display.
